A breakdown of what influences repair costs and how our fixed-price model works.

Our Fixed-Price Approach

Unlike many repair services that quote low and add costs later, we operate a completely transparent fixed-price model. The price you see when booking is the price you pay - there are no hidden fees, call-out charges, or surprise costs. Our fixed prices include labour, parts, VAT, insured collection and delivery, and our 1-year warranty.

What Affects Repair Costs?

Several factors influence the cost of MacBook repairs:

  • MacBook Model: Newer models and Pro models typically cost more to repair due to more complex components
  • Type of Repair: Screen and logic board repairs tend to be more expensive than battery or keyboard replacements
  • Parts Required: Some repairs need multiple parts or have varying part costs by model
  • Complexity: Repairs requiring micro-soldering or specialist equipment may cost more

Comparison with Apple

Our repairs are typically 40-60% less expensive than official Apple repairs. Apple often recommends replacing entire components or the whole MacBook when we can repair at component level. For example, a logic board with a faulty chip might cost over 500 pounds at Apple for a full board replacement, while we can often repair the specific chip for a fraction of that cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you charge for diagnosis?

Diagnosis is free when you proceed with a repair. If you choose not to proceed after diagnosis, a diagnostic fee may apply to cover our time and return shipping. This is always communicated before we begin.

What if additional issues are found during repair?

If we discover additional issues during the repair, we will contact you before proceeding with any extra work. You can choose to have the additional repairs done at a quoted price or decline and proceed with only the original repair.
