Data Safety and Privacy
Keeping your data secure during repairs
Yes, your data security is our priority. We do not access your personal files during repairs. All customer devices are securely locked away when we are closed, and our company computers are encrypted to industry standards. We also securely delete any data stored on our servers to HMG Infosec Standard 5 once no longer needed.

You can leave your password on your MacBook. For most repairs, we do not need to access your user account. If we do need access for testing purposes, we will contact you. You can also create a temporary user account for us to use.
If you have forgotten your password, we can help reset it during the repair process if needed. However, this may result in data loss if FileVault encryption is enabled. Contact us to discuss your options before booking.

Screen Repairs
MacBook screen replacement and repair
MacBook screen replacement prices start from £190 for MacBook Air models and vary based on your specific model. MacBook Pro 14" and 16" screens are more expensive due to their larger size and serialised display components. Check our services page for exact pricing.
Yes, we repair all types of screen damage including cracks, chips, and lines on the display. We can replace the entire display assembly or in some cases just the LCD panel, which is more cost-effective.
We offer both options. For many models, we can replace just the LCD panel, which is more affordable than replacing the entire display assembly. We will assess your MacBook and recommend the best option for your situation.
We repair all MacBook Pro models including the 14" and 16" models with the notch. These displays have serialised components, and we have the expertise to transplant the serialised chipset to your new display.
Yes, screen issues like lines, flickering, or discolouration are usually caused by a faulty LCD panel or display cable. We can diagnose the cause and replace the affected component to restore your display.
Battery Replacement
MacBook battery issues and replacement
MacBook battery replacement starts from £129 for MacBook Air models. MacBook Pro models are slightly higher due to larger battery capacity. All prices include the battery, labour, and our 1-year warranty.
Signs your battery needs replacing include: significantly reduced battery life, the battery draining quickly, the MacBook shutting down unexpectedly, a swollen battery causing the trackpad or case to bulge, or macOS showing "Service Battery" in the battery menu.
Battery replacement typically takes 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on your MacBook model. We can often complete same-day battery replacements for drop-off repairs. For mail-in repairs, your MacBook will be returned within 2-3 business days of receipt.
No, you should stop using your MacBook immediately if you notice any battery swelling. A swollen battery can be dangerous and may cause further damage to your MacBook. Contact us for an urgent battery replacement.
A typical MacBook battery is designed for approximately 1000 charge cycles, which translates to about 3-5 years of normal use. After this, you may notice reduced battery life and should consider a replacement.
Logic Board and Liquid Damage
Complex repairs for liquid damage and logic board issues
Yes, we specialize in liquid damage repair for MacBooks. Our technicians use ultrasonic cleaning equipment and have experience with complex logic board repairs. However, liquid damage can never be completely rectified, and there may be risks of additional issues developing over time.
Turn off your MacBook immediately and do not try to charge it. Turn it upside down in a tent position to let liquid drain. Do not use a hairdryer as heat can cause more damage. Contact us as soon as possible for professional assessment.
Yes, we repair MacBooks with no power issues. The cause could be the logic board, power circuits, battery, or charging components. We will diagnose the exact cause and provide a fixed-price repair quote.
Logic board repair involves diagnosing and repairing faults at component level on the main circuit board. Our technicians use microscopes, schematics, and specialised equipment to identify and replace faulty components.
Logic board repair is often worth it as it is significantly cheaper than replacing your MacBook. Our repairs typically cost a fraction of a new MacBook and come with a 1-year warranty. We will assess your device and provide honest advice.
Keyboard and Trackpad
Keyboard and trackpad repairs
Yes, we repair all keyboard issues including sticky keys, non-responsive keys, and liquid-damaged keyboards. Depending on the issue, we may be able to clean or repair individual keys, or we can replace the entire keyboard.
Keyboard replacement starts from £149. Some MacBook models have the keyboard integrated with the top case, which affects the price. We will provide an exact quote based on your MacBook model.

Pricing and Payment
Our pricing structure and payment options
Yes, we offer fixed-price repairs with no hidden costs. The price you see when booking is the price you pay, including parts, labour, VAT, and free insured collection and delivery. There are no surprise charges.

We accept payment by bank transfer, credit card, and debit card. We can also provide invoices for business customers. Payment can be made securely online or over the phone.

Warranty and Guarantee
Our warranty policy and guarantees
Our 1-year warranty covers our workmanship and any parts we supply and fit. If the same issue reoccurs within 12 months, we will repair it free of charge. The warranty does not cover new damage, liquid damage, or software issues.
Our 1-year warranty is significantly better than Apple Store standard 90-day warranty. We believe in the quality of our work and parts, which is why we offer a full 12-month guarantee on all repairs.
If the same issue reoccurs within the warranty period, simply contact us and we will arrange free collection, repair, and return of your MacBook. No questions asked, no additional charges.
Yes, our warranty follows the device, not the original owner. If you sell your MacBook, the remaining warranty period transfers to the new owner.

Pre and Post Repair Care
Preparing your MacBook and aftercare
Back up your data, note down your booking reference, package your MacBook securely in a plain cardboard box with bubble wrap, and do not include accessories like chargers. Disable Find My Mac if possible, or provide your Apple ID login details.
No, please do not include your charger or any other accessories. We have all the necessary equipment to test and repair your MacBook. This also reduces shipping weight and the risk of lost items.
If possible, please disable Find My Mac before sending your MacBook. This allows us to fully test and reset your device if needed. If you cannot disable it, please provide your Apple ID credentials.
After repair, test all functions thoroughly. For battery replacements, complete a few full charge cycles. For screen repairs, avoid pressure on the display. For liquid damage repairs, be extra cautious around liquids. Keep your repair documentation for warranty claims.
Comparison with Apple
Why choose us over Apple Store
We offer significant cost savings (often 50% or more compared to Apple), faster turnaround times, free nationwide collection and delivery, a longer 1-year warranty, and we can often repair devices that Apple would refuse to fix.
If your MacBook is still under Apple warranty, repairs by a third party could affect that warranty. However, most MacBooks we repair are already out of Apple warranty. We recommend checking your warranty status before booking.
Yes, we can often repair MacBooks that Apple has refused to fix. Apple typically offers only whole-unit replacements, while we perform component-level repairs that can bring your MacBook back to life at a fraction of the cost.
No, our repairs do not affect your ability to receive macOS software updates. Your MacBook will continue to function normally with all Apple services after our repair.
Other Services
Additional services we offer

Yes, we offer clean macOS installation services to resolve software issues, slow performance, or corrupted systems. This can often fix issues without hardware replacement.
Yes, slow performance can be caused by software issues, a failing hard drive, or thermal problems. We can diagnose the cause and recommend the appropriate repair, whether it is a clean macOS install, SSD upgrade, or thermal paste replacement.
Yes, we repair damaged USB-C and Thunderbolt ports. This includes ports that are loose, not recognising devices, or not charging. We can replace individual ports or the entire I/O board as needed.
Yes, we repair audio issues including faulty speakers, crackling sound, and non-working microphones. These issues can often be resolved by replacing the speaker or checking connections.
Yes, we can repair or replace faulty MacBook webcams. On most models, the webcam is integrated with the display assembly, so a screen replacement may be necessary.
